Nasce uma grande empresa

In the year of 1950, as an initiative of businessman PEDRO LEOPOLDINO MENTA and his brothers, the IRMÃOS MENTA Company was founded the city of Cajuru-SP, back then a small factory and metalworking industry.

In fact, PEDRO began to develop his projects at the age of 10 years, during which he worked in the manufacturing of mills for the production of brown sugar and rum, which was the most prosperous business of that time. He used to make repairs and provided technical assistance to national and imported equipment and machinery, when he developed his first projects in order to overcome the shortcomings of these machines in the small factory of his father. He realized that he could create mechanical devices to improve their operational performance and he is currently the main designer.

The company was focused on the manufacture of farm machinery for cattle feeding. In the 60's, the IRMÃOS MENTA released the first line of grinders for dry fodder and green fodder such as sugar cane and napier grass, which quickly gained the market due to their performance and robustness

In the 70s, the IRMÃOS MENTA changed the stock control to Mr. PEDRO MENTA and his sons, changing its name to MENTA MIT MAQUINAS AGRICOLAS LTDA. In the same year, the ensiling machines known as MENTA were released.

Then, in the 80’s, the company launched a product of great sales - CONFIMENTA 600 – ensiling machine with rubber conveyor belt that provides high production capacity in the preparation of fodder for cattle, with ration particulate uniformity.

Since the 1986 economic plan called “Plano Cruzado” stabilized the economy, large cattle confinement areas emerged and the beef cattle breeding activity was intensified. MENTA MIT, in the desire of being more and more innovative, developed a new line of tractor-driven fodder harvesting machines with 100% national technology, which gave the company many awards due to their high performance and productivity.

After over four years of research and development, COLHIMENTA 2000 was released in 2000, being considered the best sugar cane harvester for animal feed and received the GERDAU AWARDS - BEST ON EARTH – Citation, in the same year, the MENTA SUPER Ensiling Machine versions 15 T, 20 T and 40 T, designed to prick green fodder were launched. In the following year, aimed at improvements, the COLHIMENTA 3000 was released, recognized as the best machine in 2001 receiving the GERDAU AWARDS - BEST ON EARTH – GOLDEN TROPHY.

In 2003, MENTA MIT once again comes out ahead in technology and innovation. The company releases the PREMIUM DOBLO; first and only fodder harvester driven through gear boxes and propeller shaft, adding performance, economy and reliability to the fodder market. The robustness and performance of this equipment are complemented by its versatility. Only by changing the platform, the machine harvests sugar cane, corn and sorghum in one row (platform FC1), corn and sorghum in two rows (platform FM2) or grass planted in total area (platform PMC). The great success of PREMIUM DOBLO resulted in a rolling work that gave rise to the PREMIUM FLEX with improvements and technology nationally and internationally recognized as the most resilient, productive, robust and with the lowest maintenance cost of the fodder market.

In 2004, after many studies and research, MENTA MIT launched the COLHIFLEX, a high-capacity harvester that harvests sugar cane to feed cattle. This machine has flexibility of three types of platforms: Platform MFC1 to harvest sugar cane, napier grass, bioenergy sugarcane; platform MFM2 to harvest corn and sorghum in two rows and platform PMC 1400 to harvest grass planted in total area

After years of research, the COLHIMENTA CM-20 was launched in 2008, a machine driven by a 110 hp tractor to harvest sugar cane for the production of sugar, ethanol and bioenergy, being the market’s first and only non-automotive machine.

Always concerned with quality and technology, the company gathers equipment, last-generation processes and highly qualified professionals for the production of the best machines on the market.

MENTA MIT has approximately 100 employees at its plant located at Cajuru-SP and over 60 indirect employees to meet the domestic and international markets, exporting to over 30 countries.
